Tradeshow Marketing Event Tip #5 – Have a booth presence that doesn’t exude misery

Many of our clients use tradeshows as their primary means of outreach. We recognize this importance and have treated every tradeshow as a marketing event that stands on its own. The result is a much more effective and efficient use of tradeshows as a means of communication.

Based on our experience various tradeshows we have attended, managed and participated in, here are some ways to draw tradeshow attendees to your tradeshow booth and engage with them. Some of these tips may seem like common sense, but it is amazing how many exhibitors completely disregarded them.

Here is Tip #5 –

Have a booth presence that doesn’t exude misery

You’re tired. You’ve been in a booth for eight hours talking to nameless, faceless disinterested people.  The opposite is also true. The attendees are tired too. They have been walking around for eight hours being sold to by every booth they stop by.  However, talking to attendees is why you’re at the tradeshow. Without them, you don’t have a company. If you’re sitting in your booth with your eyes closed or looking like you’d rather be elsewhere, what’s their incentive to talk to you? You need to be professional and approachable.
